3 Healthy Drinks to Get You Through Dry January & Beyond

Congratulations, you’ve nearly made it through Dry January! We’re here to give you that final boost of motivation to finish the month off strong so you can continue to make healthy choices through 2020.

Here’s the good news: detoxing doesn’t have to be boring. A month (or longer) without alcohol welcomes the opportunity to experiment with mocktails, health elixirs, and wellness teas. Not to mention, you get to trade hangovers and headaches for nutrient-dense, digestion-friendly ingredients!

Here are three non-alcoholic drink recipes fit for every time of day and occasion. As always, we’re here to prove that you don’t need expensive supplements or superfoods to kickstart a new lifestyle. Instead, a healthy dose of freshly-squeezed lemons and clean ingredients will do just fine!

Strawberry Lemonade Smoothie:

Wake up and treat yourself to a serving of fresh fruit! This delicious smoothie is tangy, creamy and sweet all at once. We guarantee you won’t miss your daily bowl of cereal.

  • 1 tbsp Lighthouse Lemonade Cordial
  • 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt (regular or dairy-free)
  • 1 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup water

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until desired consistency is achieved. Add more water or frozen strawberries to taste.

Lime Kombucha:

Here’s a reinvention of an old classic for nights out and weekend festivities with friends. In this drink, kombucha (a fermented probiotic-rich tea) replaces the rum found in traditional mojitos.

  • 1 tbsp Lighthouse Lemonade Lemon-Lime Cordial
  • 1 bottle original kombucha
  • 2 sprigs of mint
  • 1 fresh lime
  • Handful of ice

Muddle the mint leaves and Lighthouse Lemonade in a glass. Add the ice, pour in the kombucha and stir. Garnish with additional mint leaves and fresh lime wedges.

Pomegranate Lemon Hot Tea:

When it’s time to wind down, nothing hits the spot like a mug of warm tea. Make this cleansing drink with fresh pomegranate and grated ginger to soothe the stomach and up your daily vitamin C intake.

  • 1/4 cup Lighthouse Lemonade Cordial
  • 2 green tea bags
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup crushed pomegranate seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp grated ginger

Add the green tea bags, boiling water, Lighthouse Lemonade, ginger, pomegranate seeds and honey to a large teapot. Cover and let tea steep for 5 minutes before enjoying in mugs.
